When it comes to the dating scene, honestly is always the best policy. Being straight up with anyone that you are conversing with online will assure that you don’t lead them on, and lead to something that you don’t want later. If you are constantly lying to uphold a relationship, it is wise to realize that the relationship is going nowhere and that you need to move on to someone else.
Online dating should still be treated with respect. It is important to realize that people are searching for their ideal match, someone to enjoy life with and maybe spend the rest of their years with.
You should always be respectful and courteous in your contacts and also on your profile. Don’t be lewd or disrespectful about another’s outward appearance.
Even if you are not interested in a person who has contacted you, you would be gracious to respond with some sort of acknowledgement. The same rule applies if you have lost interest in someone. If you simply do not respond to that person, that behavior would be selfish and inconsiderate. You should let them know that you do not want to pursue a relationship with them.
White lies should be avoided. Instead of saying you are interested in something you are not, you should be honest and tell person that you arent interested. For example, don’t say you would love to attend a baseball game or catch a game on TV when you abhor the sport.
Respect is key in an anonymous online dating world so it never pays to lie about your job, income or age. Everyone is looking for a friend or someone to hang with, whether its a fling or a life commitment.
It’s better if you focus on the dos and put off the negatives to make dating a pleasant occasion for everyone. Series of lies will put you in trouble and being disrespectful could make you feel sorry at one stage, especially when you’re involved in it. Be frank in telling the person whether you like him/her or not.
