The natural and organic lifestyle is quickly becoming a huge interest among the general public. This ideal covers everything from clothing to food to accessories. Skin care is also taking part in the movement.
Most people are only committed enough to incorporate one or two organic products into their daily life. However, there are those that will take the natural lifestyle to its fullest. If this type of lifestyle seems appealing to you, then you might be wondering: is it possible to have an all natural skin care routine?
In my opinion, you can make most of your skin care products and perform most of your skin treatments. The only type of product that you can’t make at home is a sunscreen. This is greatly due to the fact that it is difficult to achieve the right formula.
Here is a list of all natural skin care products that you can make yourself:
Recipe for Homemade Cleansers
If you want to make a cleanser for oily or dry try this recipe:
Place one kiwi fruit in your food processor. Half way through add 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt, 1 tablespoon of orange water, 1 tablespoon of almond oil, 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of finely ground almond. Blend until the mixture is thick and creamy.
Add 2 drops of your favorite, citrus essential oil. Apply to your skin and massage gently. Rinse off with warm water.
To make a cleanser for normal skin mix 2 sprigs of fresh thyme (or 1/2 tablespoon of dried thyme) and 2 teaspoons of crushed fennel seeds. Cover with boiling water (about one half cup). Add the juice from half of a lemon and let it steep for 15 minutes.
Once it’s ready, strain the infusion and store it in the refrigerator until you are ready to use it. Apply to your face using a cotton ball. Rinse with warm water to remove any residue.
Recipe for Homemade Toners
Making your own toner is simple. All you need to do is add 1 to 3 drops of essential oil (or oils) to an 8 ounce glass of floral water. Place this mixture in a clean, sterile bottle. When you are ready to use it, shake the mixture and splash on your face after cleansing.
The types of floral water you can use include orange blossom, rose water, lavender and witch hazel. The latter is especially good for treating oily skin. Try rose geranium for sensitive skin and sandalwood for mature and dry skin. For acne prone skin, try peppermint or myrtle.
Essential oils used for dry skin include rosewood, bergamot, rose, and frankincense. Normal skin types can use frankincense, cedar wood, lavender, and neroli. Oily combination skin can use lemon, tea tree, cypress, and ylang ylang.
Recipe for Homemade Moisturizers
Homemade moisturizers are a bit more challenging because they require heating some of the ingredients. In which case, you may want to look into purchasing some ready-made natural products.
All natural skin care, also referred to as bio skin care, is a wondrous trend that you can be incorporated into your lifestyle, if you so wish. If you want to reap the benefits of natural skin care products but don’t want to hassle with the mess of making them on your own, you can look for ready-made natural products. Products such as BIOSKINCARE cream, offer the same benefits as any mix of natural ingredients, but come fully prepared. The benefit of these ready-made natural products lies in the levels of concentration which make them more effective and of greater benefit.
